Located in Valley, NE, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a comprehensive six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows receive organic food system education without tuition fees to ensure accessibility. Participants engage in hands-on training in diverse agricultural practices, educational outreach on health and nutrition, and the management of community gardens. Additionally, they learn to support local farmers' markets, enhance access to healthy food, and foster community-driven food initiatives. Following their immersive experience, Fellows dedicate a year to applying their skills through partnerships with regional non-profit organizations, making a tangible impact on their communities. For those interested, applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
