The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Waverly, NE, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our program, participants receive comprehensive organic food system education, enabling them to teach and engage their communities effectively. Our Fellows actively contribute to diverse initiatives, including cultivating crops on market-style farms, implementing innovative health care education, and maintaining community and school gardens. They also play a vital role in enhancing food and ecological literacy in educational settings, supporting farmers markets, and developing distribution channels that increase access to healthy food options. Over a six-month immersive residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, fellows apply their knowledge through partnerships with regional non-profits, furthering their commitment to creating just and sustainable food systems. We welcome applicants until March each year for a transformative experience that typically runs from May to October.
