The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Wayne, NE is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. This dynamic program empowers participants to become effective teachers in sustainability, social equity, and ecological stewardship. Throughout a six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows engage in organic food system education, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, lead innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and promote food literacy in local schools. After their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, actively collaborating with regional non-profits to enhance food access and support farmers markets and community food initiatives. Notably, we believe in making this fellowship accessible; therefore, there are no tuition costs, allowing passionate individuals to join the movement for a healthier food landscape without financial barriers. Applications are accepted until March each year, with program activities running from May to October.
