The Women, Infants and Children Nutrition Program (WIC) in West Point, Nebraska, is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of pregnant women, infants, and children under five. Our mission is to provide free, nutritious food along with essential breastfeeding and nutrition education to support strong, healthy growth. WIC participants receive monthly or bimonthly checks to purchase healthy foods rich in protein, vitamin C, and iron at authorized local grocery stores. By focusing on these critical nutrients, we aim to prevent anemia, enhance birth weight, and foster optimal mental and physical development for our youngest community members.
