About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Winnebago, NE, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Through an immersive six-month residency, Fellows engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, focusing on organic food system education and community-based initiatives. Our mission is to empower participants to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education programs, and enhance food literacy in schools. By supporting local farmers markets and improving access to nutritious foods, we foster community resilience and health. The Fellowship is tuition-free to ensure accessibility for all dedicated individuals, who will then embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their training meaningfully. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by March for this unique opportunity beginning each May.
