The Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) in Winnebago, NE, is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity by providing essential USDA foods to low-income households, including the elderly and Native American families living on and near Indian reservations in Thurston, Dakota, and Dixon Counties. Our mission is to meet basic nutritional needs with compassion and efficiency, especially during challenging times like the ongoing pandemic. To ensure safety, we are currently offering food assistance through phone orders with pickup by appointment from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for those able to come in. For elderly clients or those without transportation, curbside delivery can be arranged by appointment from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., excluding weekends. We also streamline the application process by offering phone consultations for eligibility checks, with emails, faxes, and texts accepted for documentation.
