About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Alton, NH, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Our Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for selected participants to gain vital organic food system education while engaging in hands-on experiences at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Throughout this six-month program, we cover essential topics such as growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, and maintaining community gardens. Our Fellows also play a crucial role in promoting food and ecological literacy in schools, supporting farmers markets, and creating better access to healthy food through effective distribution channels. Importantly, we offer this transformative experience tuition-free, ensuring that it is fully accessible to all. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations to put their skills into practice. We invite all interested individuals to apply by March each year to be part of this impactful journey that runs from May through October.
