Based in Bow, NH, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders advocating for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This comprehensive program empowers selected Fellows through a six-month experiential, residential training at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, where they gain essential skills in organic food system education. Through community engagement, our Fellows collaborate with local partners to cultivate diversified crops, maintain school and community gardens, and implement innovative educational sessions that promote food and ecological literacy. The Fellowship also emphasizes accessibility by waiving tuition fees, ensuring that passionate individuals can join our mission to enhance food assistance and community food initiatives. After their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to further their impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
