About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Canaan, NH, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This fellowship provides participants with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in organic food system education without the burden of tuition, ensuring accessibility for all. Throughout the six-month residential program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain hands-on experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational initiatives, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. Following their training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to enhance food access and support farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. With a commitment to fostering sustainable practices, mentoring future leaders, and building community food coalitions, our program serves as a catalyst for meaningful change in the region. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May through October.
