About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Chester, NH, we nurture passionate individuals to become leaders and advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This transformative program, conducted at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice in food systems without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all. Our Fellows engage in hands-on organic food education, learning to cultivate diverse crops, manage community gardens, and lead innovative health care education sessions. They support farmers markets, create direct-to-consumer programs, and promote food and ecological literacy within schools, all while collaborating with regional non-profits. Over a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, selected Fellows apply their learning to make a tangible impact in their communities. Applications are due in March, with the fellowship running from May to October each year.
