About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Claremont, NH, is dedicated to cultivating a more just and sustainable food system through hands-on education and community engagement. We empower our selected Fellows to become pivotal educators and advocates by providing a fully funded, immersive six-month training at our Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA. During this time, Fellows receive comprehensive organic food system education and engage in collaborative projects such as growing diversified crops, implementing health education sessions, and establishing school and community gardens. Our program emphasizes the importance of food and ecological literacy, supporting initiatives like farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs aimed at increasing access to healthy foods. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, using their skills in partnership with local non-profits to further enhance food assistance efforts. Together, we are fostering a vibrant community dedicated to advancing food justice and sustainability.
