Located in Derry, NH, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to a just and sustainable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive, hands-on education in organic food systems, community engagement, and advocacy for practices that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice. With no tuition costs, we ensure that anyone passionate about creating impactful change in the food landscape can join us. Throughout this immersive six-month experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, Fellows gain the skills needed to grow and distribute diverse crops, run educational workshops in innovative health care, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. In addition, they support farmers markets and develop accessible channels for healthy food distribution. After their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge alongside local non-profits to foster sustainable practices. Applications are due by March each year, with the Fellowship running from May to October, making an immediate difference in our communities.
