About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Franklin, NH, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship cultivates the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Our program empowers selected Fellows through a unique, hands-on six-month experiential learning environment that is tuition-free, promoting accessibility for all passionate individuals. During their fellowship, participants engage in organic food system education, work on diversified crop production, and develop vital community ties through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. They also play a key role in maintaining school and community gardens and integrating food and ecological literacy within educational settings. Following their intensive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge and skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
