About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Greenville, NH, is dedicated to fostering a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program provides comprehensive training for passionate individuals, empowering them to become effective teachers and advocates for equitable food practices. Our Fellowship does not charge tuition, ensuring that opportunities remain accessible to all. Over a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in hands-on education about organic food systems, have the chance to grow and distribute diverse crops on a market-style farm, and lead educational sessions that promote innovative health care. Fellows also contribute to community projects such as maintaining school and community gardens, enhancing food and ecological literacy in educational settings, supporting farmer's markets, and expanding distribution channels to improve access to healthy foods. Following their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their learning and make a meaningful impact. Applications open in March, with the program running from May to October.
