About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hinsdale, NH, nurtures the next generation of leaders committed to advancing an equitable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique fellowship offers a comprehensive, tuition-free training program that empowers fellows to become advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice within food systems. Participants engage in hands-on learning at AMI's Allegheny Farm, where they gain valuable experience in organic agriculture, community garden maintenance, and the integration of food literacy into educational settings. Throughout their six-month immersive experience, fellows collaborate with local partners to promote healthy food access, support farmers markets, and cultivate ecological awareness. Upon completion, they embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits to make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
