About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Merrimack, NH, is dedicated to fostering a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Through a rigorous and accessible program, we sponsor and empower Fellows to become effective educators and advocates for sustainable agricultural practices. Our Fellowship offers comprehensive education in organic food systems without tuition fees, ensuring that all passionate individuals have the opportunity to participate. Over a transformative six-month period at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in hands-on experiences, learning to grow and distribute diverse crops, create innovative health care education sessions, maintain community and school gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in local schools. Additionally, they will support farmers markets, enhance direct-to-consumer food access, and contribute to local food coalitions. Following this immersive training, Fellows undertake a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profit organizations, amplifying their impact in the community. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October.
