About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in New Boston, NH, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, a program of the Allegheny Mountain Institute, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and teachers for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By offering a tuition-free educational experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, we strive to make this transformative program accessible to all aspiring Fellows. Over six months of hands-on, experiential learning, participants engage in organic food system education, cultivate diversified crops on a market-style farm, and contribute to community initiatives such as maintaining gardens and supporting local farmers markets. Following this immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to apply their new skills and foster greater access to healthy food. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March for an enriching experience from May to October, where they can play a vital role in advancing food equity within their communities.
