Based in Northwood, NH, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a sustainable food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, selected Fellows receive comprehensive education in organic food systems without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. This transformative program involves nurturing diversified crops, leading educational sessions on innovative health care, and promoting food and ecological literacy in school curriculums. Fellows also engage in community initiatives such as supporting farmers markets, developing channels to enhance access to healthy foods, and collaborating with local food coalitions. Over six months, participants immerse themselves in experiential learning, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their knowledge alongside regional non-profits. Applications are welcome until March for a fellowship experience running from May to October.
