About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Pelham, NH, offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship empowers participants through comprehensive, hands-on training, enabling them to become advocates and educators in sustainable agriculture. Throughout the program, Fellows engage in organic food system education and gain invaluable experience on a market-style farm. They collaborate with community partners to cultivate diversified crops, implement educational health initiatives, maintain gardens, and promote food literacy within schools. Our goal is to increase access to healthy foods by supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer channels. The fellowship includes a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, where participants can apply their training alongside regional non-profits. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
