This unique program, hosted by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides Fellows with the opportunity to dive into organic food system education without the burden of tuition, ensuring accessibility for all. Over six months, participants engage in experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they not only grow and distribute diversified crops but also develop innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into local schools. After their training, Fellows take part in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to strengthen food equity initiatives, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. Applications are accepted annually until March, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
