About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Weare, NH, offers a transformative program dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. Through hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, our Fellows engage in organic food system education, gaining vital skills to become advocates and educators in their communities. This Fellowship is tuition-free, ensuring accessibility for diverse participants. During their six-month immersive experience, Fellows work on various initiatives, including cultivating and distributing a range of crops, facilitating educational sessions, maintaining community and school gardens, and promoting food literacy. After this experiential training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations to enhance community food efforts. Applications for this impactful program are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
