About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in West Lebanon, NH, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program offers comprehensive training and hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, where selected Fellows engage in organic food system education and practical applications of their knowledge. We empower our Community Fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy within schools. Through partnerships with regional non-profit organizations, our Fellows spearhead initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions, all while ensuring that our program remains accessible with no tuition fees. The Fellowship includes a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, allowing participants to put their skills into practice and foster greater access to healthy foods across the region. Applications are accepted until March each year for experiences running from May to October.
