Located in East Brunswick, NJ, WorkFirst NJ (WFNJ) is dedicated to providing essential support to those in urgent need through our Emergency Assistance program. We offer a variety of critical services, including emergency food assistance, clothing, temporary shelter aid, and help with household furnishings to ensure that families and individuals can meet their basic needs during challenging times. Our programs extend to providing temporary rental assistance, back rent or mortgage payments, utility help, and transportation for housing searches, all aimed at helping our clients regain stability. While Emergency Assistance is generally available for 12 months, we understand that hardships can vary, and extensions may be granted in specific cases. For those who have recently lost their jobs due to no fault of their own, we assist with access to unemployment benefits, followed by potential welfare support.
