First Step Food Pantry, located in Matawan, NJ, is dedicated to empowering families in need by providing essential food assistance every month to 150 households in the area. Our mission is to ensure that each family receives nutritional support through our carefully curated food packages, offering enough meals for 6-8 dinners for a family of four. We are committed to distributing wholesome, sustainable food options, including fresh produce, eggs, and protein sources, along with non-perishable items that together can create up to seven meals. Our food pantry operates on a first come, first serve basis, with food pick-up available every Friday at our main office. Doors open at 10:30 AM, and tickets for food packages are distributed starting at 11:30 AM, ensuring that we can serve as many families as possible with the urgent resources they need.
