The Special Transportation Program, operated by the Division of Senior Citizens within the Department of Citizen Services in Orange, NJ, is dedicated to providing essential, free transportation services to Essex County residents aged 60 and older, as well as to disabled adults aged 18 and up. Our door-to-door transportation program ensures that seniors and disabled individuals can easily travel to vital locations such as medical appointments, meal sites, grocery stores, and banks, allowing them to maintain their independence and access necessary services. We prioritize convenience by offering scheduling options that allow rides to be arranged from 14 to 2 days prior to an appointment. Our mission is to empower our community members with reliable transportation, enabling them to continue engaging fully in their daily lives.
