Abriendo Puertas/Opening Doors is a dedicated parenting skills and advocacy program located in Piscataway, NJ, designed specifically for Latino parents with children aged 0 to 5. As a national, evidence-based initiative, we empower parents to become their children's first teachers while equipping them with the tools to advocate for their educational journey. Our comprehensive program includes 10 engaging workshops that cover essential topics such as nutrition, positive discipline, child development, school readiness, and the effective use of technology. By drawing on real-life experiences, we foster a supportive community where parents can learn together in both virtual and in-person settings. Upon completion of the program, parents have the opportunity to become facilitators, further contributing to the growth of our community. We invite Latino parents in Middlesex County and Franklin Township to join our free workshops and gain valuable insights into their vital role in their children's long-term development and academic success.
