Located in Alcalde, NM, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Through immersive, hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm, participants engage in organic food system education and actively contribute to community initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing health education programs, and fostering ecological literacy in schools. This Fellowship, which does not require tuition to ensure accessibility, allows selected Fellows to spend six months on experiential learning before applying their skills in the Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to enhance local food systems. Applications are open until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October.
