The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Carlsbad, NM, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. This immersive program provides essential training in organic farming, food justice, and community engagement, offering Fellows the opportunity to grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, develop educational initiatives for innovative healthcare, and enhance food literacy in schools. With a commitment to accessibility, the Fellowship charges no tuition, ensuring that everyone can participate in this transformative experience. Selected Fellows engage in a six-month residential study at our campus, followed by a Community Action Year, working closely with regional non-profits to implement impactful food assistance programs, support local farmers markets, and advocate for increased access to healthy food in the community. Applications are accepted until March, with experiences commencing in May and running through October, fostering a new generation of food system leaders dedicated to social, environmental, and economic justice.
