The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cedar Crest, NM, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for a just food system that balances social equity, environmental stewardship, and economic viability. Through our comprehensive program, we empower Fellows to engage in organic food system education, advocating for practices that enhance community resilience. We offer hands-on experiences on a market-style farm, where participants grow and distribute a variety of crops while supporting local initiatives such as school gardens and farmers markets. Our Fellowship fosters food and ecological literacy, equipping individuals to lead educational sessions and develop innovative health care partnerships. Selected Fellows benefit from a six-month intensive at our farm, followed by a Community Action Year, allowing them to apply their training within regional non-profit organizations. We believe in promoting accessibility and do not charge tuition, ensuring that our opportunities are open to all passionate about nourishing their communities. Applications are welcomed until March, with the program running from May through October each year.
