About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cuba, NM, is dedicated to transforming our food system into one that is equitable, sustainable, and empowering. This fellowship program provides an immersive six-month experience at Allegheny Farm, where selected fellows receive organic food system education and hands-on training. Without any tuition costs, we strive to ensure accessibility for all aspiring advocates and educators. Our fellows engage in diverse initiatives such as cultivating market-style farms, leading innovative health care educational sessions, and enhancing community gardens. Additionally, they work to foster food and ecological literacy in schools, support local farmers markets, and develop efficient distribution channels to improve access to healthy foods. Following their training, fellows embark on a Community Action Year where they collaborate with regional non-profits to implement their skills. Applications are open until March each year, with opportunities running May through October.
