The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Fort Sumner, NM, is a transformative program dedicated to cultivating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through hands-on training and mentorship, we empower fellows to become passionate advocates for sustainable practices while providing vital organic food system education. Our fellows engage in diverse projects, including growing and distributing crops, conducting innovative health education, and maintaining community gardens. They also facilitate the integration of food and ecological literacy into educational initiatives, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through community coalitions. With a commitment to accessibility, we offer this enriching experience at no tuition cost, ensuring that a diverse group of individuals can participate. Selected fellows embark on a six-month immersive residency at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they implement their skills alongside regional non-profits. Applications are welcomed annually until March, with the fellowship experience typically spanning from May to October.
