Located in Fruitland, NM, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a just food system through education, mentorship, and community engagement. This fellowship empowers aspiring advocates to lead in building socially, environmentally, and economically sustainable food practices. Participants receive comprehensive training on organic food systems without tuition barriers, making the program accessible to all. Throughout the six-month residency at our farm, Fellows learn hands-on techniques for growing and distributing a variety of crops, facilitating health-oriented educational initiatives, maintaining gardens, and fostering food literacy in schools. They also play a vital role in supporting farmers' markets and enhancing direct access to nutritious food within community networks. After their immersive training, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to actively implement their knowledge and contribute to the local food movement. Applications are accepted until March, with the program running from May to October, inviting passionate individuals to join us in transforming the food landscape in our region.
