The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Grants, NM is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become passionate advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Our program offers a comprehensive, hands-on education in organic food systems without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all who wish to participate. During the six-month experiential Fellowship at our campus, selected Fellows engage in various initiatives, including growing and distributing diversified crops on market-style farms, implementing health education sessions, and maintaining school and community gardens. They also integrate food and ecological literacy into activities, support farmers markets, enhance distribution channels for healthy foods, and actively participate in community food coalition efforts. Following their initial training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year where they apply their skills in collaboration with local nonprofits. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the program running from May to October, fostering the next generation of food system leaders in our community.
