About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is committed to nurturing future advocates and educators who champion a food system that is just, sustainable, and accessible in Hobbs, NM and beyond. This transformative program offers participants the chance to engage in comprehensive organic food system education without the burden of tuition, promoting inclusivity and accessibility. Fellows gain hands-on experience through six months of immersive training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute a diverse range of crops, implement innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and create channels for increased access to nutritious foods. Through collaboration with regional non-profits, Fellows also support farmers markets, integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, and mentor aspiring cohorts. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, during which selected Fellows will actively contribute to their communities and boost food equity.
