The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at Jemez Pueblo, NM is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators who promote a food system grounded in social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers participants a fully-funded, hands-on educational experience aimed at transforming local food systems. Over a six-month residential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education, learn to grow and distribute a diverse array of crops, and design impactful community initiatives such as school gardens and health-focused educational sessions. The fellowship encourages collaboration with regional non-profits to support farmers markets, enhance access to healthy foods, and lead community food coalition efforts. Following their training, Fellows spend a Community Action Year applying their knowledge in practical settings, ensuring meaningful contributions to their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences running from May to October.
