Located in Kirtland, NM, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating leaders who advocate for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. This immersive program offers aspiring Fellows an opportunity to engage in organic food system education and practical, hands-on experience at AMI's Allegheny Farm Campus. Over a six-month period, participants not only learn about sustainable agriculture but also actively contribute to community initiatives. They will engage in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health care education, maintaining school and community gardens, and enhancing food literacy among young learners. Furthermore, the fellowship supports local farmers markets and enhances access to healthy food through direct-to-consumer initiatives. By fostering partnerships with regional non-profit organizations during the Community Action Year, selected Fellows dedicate their skills to affect positive change in their communities. Applications for this transformative experience are accepted until March each year, with opportunities commencing from May to October.
