The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Las Cruces, NM, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of food system advocates through comprehensive training and experiential education. Our program empowers selected Fellows with the knowledge to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By providing tuition-free organic food system education, we promote inclusivity and accessibility for all participants. Throughout their six-month immersive residency at the Allegheny Farm, Fellows engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, facilitating educational sessions, managing community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. They also work to bolster local initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions, thereby expanding healthy food access for all. After their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in collaboration with regional nonprofit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the immersive experience taking place from May to October.
