The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Los Alamos, NM, is dedicated to nurturing and empowering the next generation of advocates for a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative program offers a comprehensive six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows engage in organic food system education and learn to implement sustainable practices. Throughout their Fellowship, participants develop skills to grow and distribute diverse crops, lead community gardening initiatives, and enhance food literacy through educational programs. The Fellowship emphasizes accessibility by not charging tuition, making it possible for individuals to join without financial barriers. Following their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to apply their training and drive impactful change in regional food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year for the session that runs from May to October, making this a vital opportunity to create healthier, more equitable food access in the community.
