Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program empowers Fellows to champion socially, environmentally, and economically just food systems. Without tuition fees, the Fellowship promotes accessibility for all aspiring participants. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our scenic Allegheny Farm Campus, gaining essential skills in organic food systems, community gardening, and nutrition education. They also collaborate with local non-profits to implement innovative health initiatives, develop distribution channels for healthy foods, and support farmers markets and school gardens. After their initial training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, applying their expertise in real-world settings to uplift local food access and literacy. Applications are open until March each year, with experiences scheduled from May to October.
