Located in Mesilla Park, NM, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to training and empowering passionate individuals to advocate for a just and equitable food system. This transformative program offers Fellows the opportunity to engage in hands-on, organic food system education that emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellows not only grow and distribute diversified crops but also implement innovative educational programs in health care, maintain community and school gardens, and promote ecological literacy. Through a six-month, immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year, participants collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to increase access to healthy foods and support vibrant local food initiatives. We believe in making our Fellowship accessible and do not charge tuition, ensuring that dedicated learners can pursue their passion for sustainable food practices. Applications are open until March each year, with experiences occurring from May to October.
