Located in Peralta, NM, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to educating and empowering individuals who are passionate about building a just food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically responsible. This unique program, offered at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, is provided at no cost to ensure that all interested participants can access this valuable training. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences across various initiatives, including crop cultivation, community gardening, and health-focused educational sessions. They learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into school programs and are actively involved in supporting local farmers' markets and food coalitions. Following a comprehensive six-month residential training at AMI's campus, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills with regional non-profits to foster increased access to nutritious food. Applications are accepted until March for the May to October fellowship period, making it an excellent opportunity for those eager to effect change in the local food system.
