The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Placitas, NM, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in sustainable food practices. Through a comprehensive training program, we empower Fellows to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellowship is committed to accessibility, as we do not charge tuition for participants. Over six months of immersive, hands-on experience at our farm, Fellows engage in organic food system education, collaborate on growing and distributing diverse crops, and implement innovative health care education. Moreover, they play a key role in maintaining community and school gardens, integrating ecological literacy into educational activities, supporting local farmers markets, and enhancing access to healthy foods. Following this experiential training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge by partnering with regional non-profit organizations to support food equity initiatives. The application deadline is in March, with the program running from May to October, allowing participants to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
