The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Portales, NM, is dedicated to cultivating passionate advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Through experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows embark on a six-month journey where they gain hands-on training in organic food systems, community food initiatives, and ecological education. This unique opportunity empowers participants to engage with local partners in diverse projects such as growing and distributing crops, running educational workshops, and enhancing food access through farmers markets and community gardens. We prioritize accessibility by offering this program tuition-free, ensuring that all aspiring leaders can participate. Following their comprehensive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year to implement their knowledge with regional non-profits, fostering a healthier food environment and supporting community cohesion.
