The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Ramah, NM, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become advocates for a just food system that respects social, environmental, and economic principles. This program, offered by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, provides an accessible and engaging education in organic food systems without tuition fees. Fellows participate in a comprehensive six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they will learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, support community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational initiatives. Following their training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to implement sustainable practices and enhance access to healthy foods, thereby supporting regional food security and fostering community resilience. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
