About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Raton, NM, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. Through hands-on training and empowering mentorship, our selected Fellows engage in comprehensive organic food system education at AMI's vibrant farm. The Fellowship emphasizes accessibility, as we do not charge tuition, ensuring that aspiring leaders from diverse backgrounds can participate. Over a six-month residential program, Fellows collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health-focused educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. This is complemented by a Community Action Year, allowing Fellows to apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits to expand access to healthy foods and support community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, creating a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
