The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Roswell, NM is dedicated to fostering a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By training and empowering fellows, we create advocates who are equipped to teach others about sustainable food practices. This unique program offers hands-on education in organic food systems, ensuring accessibility by waiving any tuition fees. Our fellows engage in diverse activities that include growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, and maintaining community gardens. They also integrate food and ecological literacy into school curricula and actively support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. Over the course of six months at our immersive Farm and Food Study, selected fellows gain invaluable experience before transitioning into a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their skills. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
