About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Santo Domingo Pueblo, NM, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through hands-on training and empowering future leaders. Our program supports selected Fellows with a unique opportunity to engage in organic food system education, allowing them to become advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. Participants will gain valuable experience in growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, and enhancing community gardens. The Fellowship focuses on integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings, promoting access to healthy foods, and strengthening local food initiatives, such as farmers markets and direct-to-consumer sales. The rigorous six-month experiential training is followed by a Community Action Year, where Fellows can apply their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits. We ensure accessibility to our educational programs by not charging tuition, emphasizing our commitment to nurturing the next generation of food system leaders. Applications are open until March for the summer cohort, which runs from May to October.
