About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Shiprock, NM, is dedicated to fostering a fair and resilient food system through practical education and advocacy. This program empowers selected Fellows to engage in hands-on experiences that emphasize social, environmental, and economic justice in food production. Our Fellows receive comprehensive training without tuition costs, ensuring accessibility for all. Participants immerse themselves in organic food system practices and collaborate with community partners to grow and distribute diversified crops, maintain school and community gardens, and implement educational initiatives centered on food and ecological literacy. Through their six-month experiential fellowship at our campus, followed by a Community Action Year, they apply their knowledge in partnership with regional nonprofits, enhancing food access and supporting local food systems. Aspiring Fellows are encouraged to apply by March to embark on this transformative journey each year from May to October.
