The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Waterflow, NM, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become passionate advocates and educators for a just and sustainable food system. Our program provides comprehensive organic food system education without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring fellows. Participants engage in hands-on experiences at Allegheny Farm, where they learn to cultivate and distribute diversified crops, implement health education initiatives, maintain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in schools. Our fellows also play a crucial role in supporting farmers markets and improving access to healthy foods through various community engagement efforts. After a transformative six-month fellowship, they enter a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to apply their learning in real-world settings. Interested candidates should submit their applications by March for the fellowship experience that runs from May to October, as we work together to create a healthier and more equitable food system.
