The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Baker City, OR, is dedicated to empowering future leaders committed to creating a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. This program offers comprehensive training in organic food systems, equipping Fellows with the tools to advocate for sustainable practices within their communities. Through hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in activities such as growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health education sessions, maintaining school and community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational programs. The fellowship ensures accessibility by not charging tuition, fostering inclusivity and support for all aspiring advocates. Selected Fellows will embark on a transformative six-month residency followed by a Community Action Year, during which they will collaborate with regional non-profits to promote food assistance, enhance distribution channels, and contribute to local food coalitions, ultimately working towards better access to healthy food for all.
